Aloha
Kimo:
Hope this one finds
you well.
During our first-ever
meeting on Tuesday, you were kind enough to give me a copy of your Ho`omalie CD.
As you know, I write
for a living so I spend about 10 hours each day on my
laptop...
Being a Puerto Rican
from New York
City, I love my Salsa music and play them all the time
when I’m not working. However, I can’t play them when I’m writing because they
are intrusive and interfere with my thought
processes.
I had a lot of writing
to get through today and something prompted me to place your CD in the player
and give it a listen. I was very pleasantly surprised. As you had mentioned, I
found the music soothing – but it was also vibrant and
beautiful.
Without meaning to
sound cliché-ish, it reminded me of beautiful evenings in Waikiki watching sunsets. I know there are much more
beautiful sunsets here and places to watch them from. What I am referring to is
when someone who is not from Hawaii visits the island, the picture you have in
your mind is what Hawaii has come to represent the world over: beautiful
islands, sunsets, and beaches; a seemingly carefree lifestyle; gentle breezes
and warm, balmy nights. And then you added those excellent jazz moments !!!
The CD just ended.
Instead of finding
myself sipping Mai Tais and gently applauding the magnificent musicians at the
beachside venue, I found myself in my home office gulping down some Taster’s
Choice. Talk about killing a moment!
Great music! Great
job!
Thank you so
much.
Respectfully,
